The enclosure supported industrial touchscreens with different installation arrangements and adjustable operator viewing angles.
The customer’s challenge
Inadequate cooling caused shutdowns, while a single mounting arrangement limited positioning and operator access.
Material and fabrication route
2.0 mm aluminum; steel mounting arm.
Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → anodizing → touchscreen assembly → inspection.
Manufacturing changes
Ventilation and internal thermal paths improved cooling. Wall, arm and desktop mounting options with angle adjustment broadened installation choices.
Engineering analysis
The HMI enclosure had to suit the operator’s installation position as well as the electronics inside. Cooling changes addressed shutdowns, while the mounting options addressed viewing and access. The operating range describes the configured assembly, not an assurance that any touchscreen fitted to the housing will behave identically. Comparing a similar project therefore starts with the actual display, thermal load and mounting arrangement.
Inspection and project results
The configured HMI operated without the prior shutdowns and supported the customer’s multiple installation settings.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.
Planning a similar OEM component
A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:
- Touchscreen dimensions and heat load.
- Wall, arm or desktop interface.
- Viewing-angle and cable clearances.
- Front-panel protection requirements.
Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
