The customer’s challenge

Sagging doors, unreliable locks and weak seals affected protection and maintenance.

Material and fabrication route

1.5 mm Q235 steel; 304 stainless option.

Process route: Laser cutting → bending → hinge welding → powder coating → lock assembly → seal inspection.

Manufacturing changes

Stiffeners, industrial three-point locks, revised gasket interfaces and quick-removal service panels improved the assembly.

Engineering analysis

Door sag, locking and gasket fit were linked through the assembled door geometry. Stiffening the panel helped preserve its shape, but the lock and seal interfaces still needed to engage consistently around the cabinet. The reported cycle and protection results concern that assembled arrangement. For repeat procurement, hinge positions, locking points and gasket contact surfaces are as important as the door’s overall dimensions.

Inspection and project results

The tested door completed at least 10,000 operations without sagging, with reliable locking and IP54 protection.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Door size and hinge positions.
  • Locking points and engagement.
  • Gasket profile and contact surfaces.
  • Opening-cycle and protection acceptance.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
