The control box supported factory automation components with organized wiring and accessible service panels.
The customer’s challenge
Disordered wiring, poor cooling, inadequate protection and unclear identification complicated maintenance.
Material and fabrication route
1.5 mm Q235 steel; 2.0 mm galvanized mounting plate.
Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → powder coating → cable-duct installation → terminal assembly → powered inspection.
Manufacturing changes
Revised ducts, fan cooling, improved sealing, removable panels and clear labels organized the assembly.
Engineering analysis
The control box problem crossed mechanical layout and electrical installation. Ducts and labels improved organization, while cooling, seals and removable panels addressed operation and service. The temperature-rise result describes the populated box in the project configuration. A similar shell without the same internal equipment would require a fresh thermal assessment rather than inheriting that result from the metalwork.
Inspection and project results
The configured box achieved temperature rise ≤30 K and IP54, with orderly wiring and improved maintenance access.
| Project measurement or production detail | Recorded value |
|---|---|
| Temperature rise | ≤30 K |
| Protection test | IP54 |
| Box size | 500 × 400 × 200 mm |
These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.
Planning a similar OEM component
A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:
- Component and terminal layout.
- Cable-duct and service clearances.
- Thermal load and cooling arrangement.
- Protection and powered-inspection scope.
Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
