The customer’s challenge

Weak wind resistance, exposed cables and incompatible foundations complicated the outdoor installation.

Material and fabrication route

3.0 mm Q235 steel tube; 2.0 mm sheet.

Process route: Tube cutting → welding → hot-dip galvanizing → powder coating → cable-route assembly → wind testing.

Manufacturing changes

A stronger post, internal cable channel, common mounting flange and anti-tamper fasteners improved the installation.

Engineering analysis

The pedestal combined a load-bearing post with a protected cable route and foundation interface. Reinforcing the post alone would not resolve exposed wiring or incompatible site fixings. The published dimensions identify the project arrangement; the wind result remains tied to the specified installation. A new location needs its own mounting, equipment and environmental inputs rather than an assumed universal wind rating.

Inspection and project results

The project recorded successful wind-resistance checks, protected cable routing and compatible mounting. The public dimensional results are listed below.

Project measurement or production detailRecorded value
Charger configuration≥120 kW
Pedestal height≥1,500 mm
Protection testIP54
Tube wall3.0 mm

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Charger mass and mounting pattern.
  • Foundation flange and anchors.
  • Internal cable route and access.
  • Site wind inputs and acceptance criteria.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
