The customer’s challenge

High heat density, inadequate environmental protection and inefficient mounting space limited operation and service access.

Material and fabrication route

2.0 mm Q235 steel; aluminum doors.

Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → powder coating → PDU installation → thermal-control installation → protection testing.

Manufacturing changes

Coordinated ventilation and heat exchange, improved seals, modular equipment space and monitoring interfaces revised the cabinet architecture.

Engineering analysis

The cabinet had to accommodate equipment, distribute power and maintain a workable cooling route within the same space. Modular installation zones and coordinated thermal control addressed that packaging problem. The temperature result refers to the populated cabinet, while the equipment-space figure identifies its usable rack format. A similar inquiry needs both the internal layout and expected heat loads to judge the enclosure arrangement.

Inspection and project results

The configured cabinet achieved temperature rise ≤35 K and IP55, with the reported internal space utilization reaching ≥80%.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Equipment and PDU layout.
  • Heat load and cooling interfaces.
  • Door, seal and service clearances.
  • Usable rack-space requirements.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
