The customer’s challenge

Large temperature changes, water ingress and inadequate access security interrupted equipment operation.

Material and fabrication route

2.0 mm Q235 steel; insulation; stainless door hardware.

Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → insulation → powder coating → HVAC installation → protection testing.

Manufacturing changes

A double-wall insulated structure, three-point locking, improved sealing and coordinated cooling and heat exchange addressed outdoor exposure.

Engineering analysis

The shelter combined a protective shell with an internal environmental-control arrangement. The double-wall construction, seals, locking and cooling were coordinated around the installed equipment. Internal temperature and enclosure protection are therefore separate results for the completed configuration. For repeat work, the door hardware, penetrations and service provisions need to remain part of the drawing package instead of being specified independently at installation.

Inspection and project results

The installed shelter maintained the reported internal temperature range and achieved IP55 with stable equipment operation.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Equipment layout and heat load.
  • Ambient and moisture exposure.
  • Doors, locks and service penetrations.
  • Installed temperature and protection criteria.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
