Project Overview

Application The cabinet supported row-level and UPS-output distribution equipment with defined electrical clearances and enclosure protection.
Materials 2.0 mm Q235 cold-rolled steel; 2.5 mm galvanized mounting beams.
Process Route Laser cutting → bending → welding → grinding → powder coating → electrical installation → powered inspection.
Customer Challenge Insufficient protection and inadequate spacing between live parts and the enclosure accompanied excessive busbar temperature rise.

The cabinet supported row-level and UPS-output distribution equipment with defined electrical clearances and enclosure protection.

The customer’s challenge

Insufficient protection and inadequate spacing between live parts and the enclosure accompanied excessive busbar temperature rise.

Material and fabrication route

2.0 mm Q235 cold-rolled steel; 2.5 mm galvanized mounting beams.

Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → grinding → powder coating → electrical installation → powered inspection.

Manufacturing changes

Internal clearances and creepage paths were revised, insulating barriers added, and busbar ventilation and enclosure sealing improved.

Engineering analysis

The cabinet changes addressed physical spacing, thermal behavior and enclosure protection in one populated distribution assembly. Barriers and layout changes addressed separation, while ventilation and sealing addressed different environmental requirements. The current and temperature figures belong to that configuration. When ordering comparable metalwork, the electrical layout and responsibility for the final populated-assembly checks should be agreed alongside the cabinet drawing.

Inspection and project results

The completed distribution assembly achieved IP4X and passed the reported temperature-rise and electrical-spacing checks.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Electrical layout and busbar interfaces.
  • Clearance and barrier requirements.
  • Ventilation and sealing details.
  • Populated-assembly test responsibilities.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
