The customer’s challenge

Separately designed structures used inconsistent datums and complicated wiring, extending on-site commissioning.

Material and fabrication route

2.0 mm Q235 steel; aluminum panels.

Process route: Laser cutting → bending → welding → powder coating → integrated commissioning → precision inspection.

Manufacturing changes

A shared frame-and-cabinet datum, prewiring tests and integrated checks before dispatch reduced installation work.

Engineering analysis

The installation delay was partly an interface problem between separately developed structures. A shared frame-and-cabinet reference and integrated checks moved alignment and wiring questions ahead of site installation. The commissioning reduction is a comparison within this project, while positioning and prewiring coverage describe specific parts of the supplied arrangement. Together they show why coordination can matter as much as individual part accuracy.

Inspection and project results

On-site commissioning time fell by 60% in the reported project comparison. Wiring remained orderly and positioning stable.

These figures describe the project configuration and production scope above. Dimensional, material and production details are identified separately from performance tests. For a new order, the inspection method and acceptance criteria should be agreed against the released drawings.

Planning a similar OEM component

A useful RFQ for this application should make the following interfaces and acceptance requirements clear:

  • Frame and cabinet interface drawings.
  • Shared installation datums.
  • Prewiring and test responsibility.
  • Site acceptance and commissioning comparison.

Include the current drawing revision, mating-component information, quantities and required delivery sequence. Identifying unresolved requirements at quotation stage helps distinguish fabrication work from the equipment-level checks that the project needs.
