03 / Manufacturing Process

Integrated Production Workflow

A representative production route from material review through drawing-defined inspection. Exact processes, sources and records are confirmed in the quotation.

01

DFM Review & CAE

DFM inputs can include topology, thermal and crash constraints when the OEM supplies the models and acceptance criteria. Prototype iterations depend on design maturity; no fixed reduction is claimed.

02

Material Verification

Material grade, temper, supplier documents, lot linkage and any independent composition or hardness checks are defined by the RFQ and inspection plan.

03

Laser Cutting & CNC Sawing

Fiber laser cutting for sheet components and CNC sawing for extruded profiles to the released drawing and agreed inspection criteria.

04

CNC Machining

Machining of sealing lands, mounting interfaces and bosses can be included when the released drawing defines datums, tolerances and inspection method.

05

Buyer-Approved Joining Route

Welding or another joining route can be evaluated against the released aluminum joint. Process source, qualification, acceptance criteria and records are agreed before quotation and buyer approval.

06

Robotic Welding

Robotic MIG or TIG routes can be quoted for stable, repeat geometry. Path, fixture and acceptance requirements are defined by the released project plan.

07

Surface Treatment

Conversion coating, powder coat or anodize can be supplied to drawing-defined finish and corrosion-test requirements when included in the RFQ.

08

Leak Test & QC

Leak and dimensional checks are performed only to the agreed method, acceptance limits and sampling plan. Records and traceability format are defined by RFQ.

04 / Material Options

Battery Tray Material Options to Review

The OEM selects material from structural, joining, corrosion, weight and validation requirements. We review the released grade, temper, thickness, supply condition and required material records for manufacturability.

05 / Quality & Compliance

Battery Safety Is Non-Negotiable

Battery enclosure interfaces affect sealing, fit and vehicle integration. The OEM defines safety requirements, validation and approval; DRAmetal follows the released mechanical drawing and agreed inspection plan.

Automotive Documentation

DRAmetal is IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified. Certificate details are available on request. APQP, PPAP-style, FMEA and control-plan deliverables are supported only when defined and quoted for the program.

Internal Production Controls

Drawing revision, first-article and inspection requirements are agreed before production. DRAmetal is ISO 9001 certified; certificate details are available on request.

Supplier Declarations

Restricted-substance or environmental records are requested from applicable suppliers when specified.

System Certification Boundary

The EV or battery-system OEM owns final UL and vehicle-level testing, approval and certification.

09 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an EV battery tray the same as a stationary battery enclosure?
No. This page covers vehicle and mobile-equipment pack structures. Stationary storage cabinets and racks have different ventilation, service-access, installation and system-approval inputs; review them on the custom battery enclosure page.
What's the minimum order quantity for custom battery trays?
Minimum order and production quantity depend on geometry, tooling, material, inspection and packout. They are confirmed in the quotation after the released scope is reviewed.
How long does prototype development take?
Prototype and production schedules are confirmed in the quotation after drawings, materials, purchased content, tooling and inspection requirements are reviewed.
Do you support APQP and PPAP for automotive OEMs?
These deliverables can be supported when the customer template, submission level, test scope and timing are reviewed before quotation. DRAmetal is IATF 16949 certified; the OEM must still confirm program-specific supplier-approval requirements before award.
Can you handle integrated cooling channel designs?
Cooling-channel and FSW-joint designs can be reviewed when the OEM supplies released geometry, materials, pressure or leak criteria, process qualification and test responsibility. Thermal design and final battery-system validation remain with the OEM.
Where are your facilities and how do you ship globally?
DRAmetal operates from Shenzhen, China. Available freight method, Incoterm, export documentation and delivery responsibility are confirmed for each order.
What quality records can you provide with shipments?
The shipment package follows the quotation. It can include mill-supplied material records, dimensional results, leak-test records, Certificate of Origin and supplier declarations when specified. UL, CE and finished-system certification remain with the OEM or accredited test body.
