03 / Manufacturing Process

Integrated Production Workflow

Eight precision steps from raw steel to fire-safety-ready, weatherproof, deployment-ready BESS enclosure.

01

DFM & Safety Review

Pre-production DFM including UL 9540A deflagration venting analysis, fire barrier design, thermal modeling, and structural load paths for the target deployment.

02

Material Verification

Material grade, source records, incoming checks and traceability are defined by RFQ. XRF or other PMI is included only when a responsible route is quoted.

03

Laser Cutting & Punching

The quotation confirms the cutting and punching route for wall panels, frames, vents, mounting patterns, cable entries and HVAC openings.

04

Forming & Framing

Press brake forming of panels and structural members. Container frame assembly to ISO corner-casting standards for intermodal handling and stacking.

05

Robotic Welding

Robotic MIG for structural frame and panel welds. Continuous welds on sealing-critical and fire-barrier joints. Distortion-controlled for panel flatness.

06

Surface Treatment

Galvanizing and coating follow the released environmental specification. Any ASTM B117 duration, method and acceptance criteria must be defined by RFQ.

07

Integration & Sealing

HVAC mounting, fire-deflagration vents, cable glands, door gaskets, and battery rack mounting installed. NEMA 3R/4 sealing verified.

08

Testing & Documentation

Ingress-related, structural or dimensional checks are performed only to the agreed method, acceptance criteria and record requirements. Final system safety validation remains with the integrator.

05 / Quality & Compliance

Project-Specific Quality Planning

A BESS enclosure failure can mean thermal runaway propagation, fire, and the loss of an entire storage asset. The system integrator owns fire-safety design, validation and approval; DRAmetal follows the released mechanical drawing and agreed inspection plan.

UL 9540A Test Boundary

UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components; confirm the model and listing scope for your project. Separately, UL 9540A evaluates a configured battery energy-storage system. DRAmetal fabricates released enclosure features; the integrator owns the test setup, report and approval.

NFPA 855

Installation requirements are supplied by the integrator. DRAmetal can manufacture released spacing, separation and fire-barrier interfaces.

NEMA 3R / 4

Outdoor weatherproof enclosure ratings — rain, sleet, ice, and (4) hose-directed water resistant for harsh deployment environments.

IEC 62619

Safety requirements for secondary lithium cells and batteries for industrial applications — the international BESS safety benchmark.

09 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the minimum order quantity for BESS enclosures?
Minimum order and repeat-production quantity depend on enclosure format, tooling, purchased content, finish, inspection and packout. They are confirmed in the quotation after the released scope is reviewed.
Are your enclosures UL 9540A certified?
No enclosure is independently "UL 9540A certified." UL 9540A is a system-level test covering the configured battery, enclosure and controls. DRAmetal fabricates the released mechanical scope; the integrator, test laboratory and AHJ own testing and approval.
Can you provide fire-rated module separation?
DRAmetal can fabricate released barrier components when they are included in the RFQ. The integrator defines materials and separation requirements; the responsible laboratory and authority validate any fire rating or duration.
How do you handle thermal management integration?
We manufacture the released mechanical scope for liquid- or HVAC-cooled systems, including specified mounts, routing features and isolation interfaces. Related cooling plates, manifolds and thermal management parts are reviewed by RFQ; the integrator owns thermal design and validation. hardware for battery and data center systems.
Can you build hurricane / cyclone-rated enclosures?
DRAmetal does not claim a fixed wind or seismic rating. The licensed engineer defines the site load cases and released structure; the integrator, laboratory and authority validate the configured system.
How do you ship BESS enclosures internationally?
Containerized enclosures ship as ISO intermodal units. C&I cabinets and racks ship via sea freight with custom palletization. We support EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP with full export documentation, and can coordinate sequenced delivery aligned with project installation schedules.
