01 / What We Fabricate

Metal Fan Carriers Built Around Your Equipment

A custom fan tray supports selected fans and their mechanical interfaces inside an OEM system. This page covers fabricated metalwork and the component installation expressly included in the quote; it does not treat an empty tray as a rated powered cooling module.

AI Server Equipment

Multi-fan carriers and internal partitions aligned with the server team's approved chassis, module and airflow architecture.

Industrial Computing

Removable or fixed fan supports for edge computers, industrial PCs and electronics cabinets with defined installation and service access.

Test and Instrument Systems

Fan trays and brackets around released instrument housings, connector references and controlled component populations.

Repeat OEM Assemblies

Common carriers and variant-specific panels or supports supplied against an identified equipment revision and hardware list.

Metalwork and agreed assembly—not an unspecified cooling-performance promise

Identify purchased fans, harnesses, controls and connector hardware separately. The responsible equipment team defines thermal, electrical, acoustic and safety acceptance; any supporting testing must be explicitly included in the project scope.

02 / Fabrication Configurations

Fixed Carriers, Removable Trays and Mechanical Kits

Specify fan references, tray geometry and mating interfaces rather than choosing by a generic fan size. These configurations describe custom scopes, not stocked cooling products.

Multi-Fan Mounting Carrier Fixed structure

Multi-Fan Mounting Carrier

A formed tray with released apertures, mounting-hole patterns and attachment points. Define the supports and installed fan population.

  • Pattern Fan drawing
  • Supports OEM-defined
  • Finish Specified state
Removable Fan Tray Service access

Removable Fan Tray

A carrier coordinated with chassis guides, stops, retention and the approved removal path. Identify electrical disconnection separately.

  • Fit Mating rails
  • Access Extraction path
  • Retention Released hardware
Tray with Duct Partitions Internal separation

Tray with Duct Partitions

Fabricated dividers and openings around an OEM-defined airflow layout. System airflow and acoustic performance require the agreed equipment validation.

  • Partitions Controlled geometry
  • Openings System design
  • Validation Assigned scope
Carrier, Guard and Bracket Kit Mechanical assembly

Carrier, Guard and Bracket Kit

Coordinated metal parts with the specified fasteners, guards and cable supports. List fan, harness and connector sourcing as separate lines.

  • Supply BOM-defined
  • Hardware Selected parts
  • Packing Variant identification
03 / Technical Capabilities

Fan Tray RFQ Interface and Supply Matrix

Fan references Supply the selected fan drawing, mounting pattern, body envelope and quantity. Identify whether fans are buyer-supplied, supplier-sourced or excluded.
Chassis interface Provide guide or rail references, insertion envelope, stops, retention and the datum relationship between tray, fan row and rear interfaces.
Stiffness and environment Identify installed masses, support conditions, orientation and any operating or transport requirements. Qualification method and acceptance remain project-defined.
Connector alignment Provide connector application instructions, guide features, mounting compliance and engagement sequence. Mechanical removability alone does not establish hot-swap capability.
Materials and finish Specify grade, thickness, finish, masked interfaces and the measurement state after treatment and installed hardware.
Cables and service Define harness ownership, support points, bend requirements, disconnection access and the tray removal path with neighboring equipment installed.
Inspection and records Agree dimensional characteristics, gauge or mating references, restraint conditions, report format and any distinct functional test.
Order release Send quantity by equipment configuration, drawing and BOM revisions, approved substitutions, packing requirements and requested timing.
04 / Manufacturing Process

A Controlled Route from Fan Layout to Production Carrier

01

Define the Supply Boundary

Separate fabricated parts, purchased fans and connectors, harnesses, installation and verification before comparing quotations.

02

Review the Interface Chain

Connect the fan pattern, tray datums, rails, stops and rear bracket to the released equipment configuration.

03

Check Assembly and Service

Review screw access, guard removal, cable support, guide engagement and the extraction path.

04

Agree Inspection

Define finished-state dimensions and any fit fixture, component surrogate or reference assembly required for acceptance.

05

Fabricate the Quoted Metalwork

Cut, form, join, finish and install the specified hardware using the approved drawing and process requirements.

06

Release the Mechanical Kit

Verify agreed interfaces, identify variants and include the contracted records. Keep powered-module validation within its explicitly assigned scope.

05 / Why It Matters

Control the Tray as an Assembly Interface

The outside envelope does not define whether a populated tray aligns, can be installed or can be serviced. Make those relationships visible in the manufacturing package.

Hole Patterns Across the Fan Row

Use shared functional references and an appropriate tolerance scheme for the selected fans and any duct openings.

Rail and Connector Relationship

Review final engagement as well as the long insertion path. Guides, compliance and connector limits must work together.

Support and Local Stiffness

Review unsupported spans, fan masses and attachment conditions before deciding whether a thicker sheet or a local reinforcement is appropriate.

Production Fit Checks

Control fixture revision, support condition and acceptance rules. Mechanical fit does not by itself establish airflow, noise or electrical performance.

The Customer Challenge

Accumulated mounting-hole error caused vibration and fan-to-duct misalignment, while the tray bound against the chassis rails during servicing.

07 / Why Choose Us

A Fabrication Partner for B2B Equipment Programs

01

Clear Procurement Boundaries

The quote distinguishes the empty carrier, fitted metalwork and selected-component installation, making supplier comparisons more meaningful.

02

Pilot and Repeat Requirements

Trial quantities, mating references, fixtures and documentation are reviewed with the program rather than assumed from the product name.

03

Quality Documents Available

DRAmetal / Shenzhen Shixin holds ISO 9001 certification. Applicable documentation and project-specific inspection records are available for supplier qualification and order review.

04

Revision-Controlled Interfaces

A changed fan, connector or rail can alter the carrier. Keep the approved hardware and interface references connected to each repeat order.

09 / FAQ

OEM Fan Tray Fabrication Questions

Does the quote include fans and electrical controls?

Only if those components and their sourcing, installation and verification are explicitly listed. The base scope is fabricated sheet-metal carriers and the agreed mechanical hardware. A complete powered module requires a separately defined BOM and test scope.

Can a removable tray be called hot-swappable?

Not from its metalwork alone. Connector selection, sequencing, protection, controls and system procedures must support that capability. We can review the mechanical guide and retention features against the OEM's released design.

How do you inspect a row of fan positions?

The method follows the released drawing and agreed datum scheme. It may include dimensional inspection, a reviewed gauge or a reference fit check. The RFQ should define the finish, restraint and installed-hardware state.

Can you fabricate trays for different fan sizes?

Yes, send the selected component drawings and tray layout. A nominal fan size does not define every mounting, cable or clearance feature, so the actual references are required.

Can vibration or thermal testing be included?

Provide the complete configuration, applicable method and acceptance requirements for scope review. Such testing is separate from normal dimensional inspection and must have an assigned responsible party and quoted deliverable.

What should an OEM provide for a pilot quote?

Send the carrier and assembly CAD, drawings, selected fans and hardware, chassis references, material and finish, inspection requirements, pilot and repeat quantities, and packaging expectations.
