01 / What We Fabricate

IP-Target Metal Enclosures for OEM Equipment

Outdoor equipment buyers need custom IP-target sheet metal enclosures with controlled gasket lands, door compression, penetrations and drainage matched to the released IP54, IP65 or IP66 design target.

Outdoor Electrical Enclosures

Wall-mount, pole-mount and floor-standing cabinet bodies with rain lips, gasketed doors and cable entry control.

Washdown Stainless Enclosures

304/316 stainless boxes, covers and panels for washdown, wet-room and corrosion-prone equipment areas.

Gasketed Sheet Metal Panels

Doors, access covers, gland plates and removable panels with controlled sealing surfaces and hardware.

IP-Target Enclosure Kits

Finished enclosure parts packed by model, revision and hardware list for OEM integration or field installation.

Our scope: IP-ready mechanical enclosure fabrication

DRAmetal manufactures the enclosure body, panels, doors, gland plates, hardware-ready features and finish to released drawings. The OEM or test lab owns final IP/NEMA validation, electrical equipment, gasket selection approval and system certification.

04 / Manufacturing Process

From IP Rating Requirement to Enclosure Kit Delivery

01

Environment Review

Clarify whether the enclosure faces rain, hose spray, dust, washdown, corrosion, immersion risk or a NEMA requirement.

02

Sealing DFM

Review gasket lands, door gaps, hinge/latch locations, cable entries, drain paths and coating thickness risks.

03

Fabrication

Cut, punch, bend, weld and deburr enclosure bodies, doors, covers, gland plates, rain hoods and brackets.

04

Finish and Hardware

Apply coating or passivation, then install hinges, latches, PEM hardware, grounding studs and customer-defined hardware.

05

Interface Inspection

Check CTQ sealing surfaces, door fit, latch compression, gland plate holes, coating quality and hardware presence.

06

Packout

Pack enclosures and panel kits by model, drawing revision, installation sequence or OEM assembly station.

05 / Why It Matters

Why IP Rated Enclosures Need Manufacturing Discipline

An IP rating is achieved by the complete enclosure system. Sheet metal flatness, gasket compression, door alignment, cable entry treatment and coating thickness all affect whether the final assembly can pass validation.

Gasket Surfaces

Forming, welding and coating can distort gasket lands, so CTQ surfaces need explicit checks.

Cable Entries

Gland plates and knockouts must match the cable layout without breaking the enclosure's intended sealing path.

Outdoor Corrosion

Material, coating and hardware choices need to match rain, salt, chemicals or washdown exposure.

Validation Boundary

The OEM normally owns final IP testing, while DRAmetal controls the manufactured interfaces to the released drawing.

07 / Why Choose Us

Why OEMs Use DRAmetal for IP Rated Enclosures

01

Enclosure manufacturing experience

Electrical, telecom, solar, control and industrial enclosures give us practical sealing and hardware control experience.

02

Integrated sheet metal flow

Cutting, forming, welding, coating, hardware insertion and kit packout are coordinated around the same drawing revision.

03

Seal-interface inspection

Gasket lands, door openings, gland plates, latch positions and grounding points are checked as functional features.

04

Clear certification boundary

We manufacture IP-ready mechanical parts while the OEM or test lab owns final enclosure validation and certification.

09 / FAQ

IP Rated Sheet Metal Enclosures FAQ

How do you support IP65 or IP66 enclosure requirements?

DRAmetal manufactures IP-ready mechanical interfaces to released drawings and provides the agreed inspection records. UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components; confirm the model and listing scope separately. The IP65 or IP66 target, complete enclosure configuration and validation plan are agreed with the OEM and accredited test laboratory.

What enclosure parts can you fabricate?

We fabricate enclosure bodies, doors, covers, gland plates, rain hoods, mounting brackets, back panels, access panels and hardware-installed kits.

Which materials work for outdoor IP rated enclosures?

Common choices include powder-coated carbon steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, 304 stainless and 316L stainless. The right material depends on corrosion, washdown and cost requirements.

What should be included in an IP rated enclosure RFQ?

Send drawings, STEP files, target IP or NEMA rating, material and finish notes, gasket details, cable entry layout, hardware list, CTQ sealing dimensions and forecast quantity.
