01 / What We Fabricate

The RDHx Door Structure for Rack Cooling

A rear door heat exchanger depends on a large sheet metal structure that holds the coil, protects service hardware and still fits the rack. We fabricate the door platform around your rack and thermal package.

Rack Door Frame

Tall welded or riveted frames are controlled for squareness, hinge datum, latch engagement and rack opening fit.

Coil Carrier and Guarding

Coil openings, perforated guards, gasket lands and service panels are fabricated to protect thermal components without blocking airflow.

Hinge and Latch Datum

Reinforced hinge rails, latch plates, stops and lift points are checked so heavy doors swing and close predictably.

Coolant Service Hardware

Manifold brackets, hose guides, drip trays and grounding tabs are planned around service clearance and leak-aware routing.

Our scope: the fabricated RDHx door platform

We fabricate the metal door frame, coil carrier, guarding, brackets, trays and hardware interfaces. Your team defines the coil, coolant controls, leak detection and final thermal certification.

02 / RDHx Components

What We Fabricate for Rear Door Heat Exchangers

RDHx assemblies combine rack mechanics, liquid-cooling interfaces and service access. We focus on the fabricated metal platform that keeps the coil protected, aligned and easy to install.

04 / Manufacturing Process

Built for Repeatable Rack Installation

We combine sheet metal fabrication and assembly control so each RDHx door arrives ready for coil installation or final rack integration.

01

DFM & Rack Interface Review

Confirm rack width, hinge datum, swing clearance, coil envelope, hose routing and service access.

02

Precision Cutting & Forming

Control long door rails, vent openings, fastener patterns and gasket lands before welding or riveting.

03

Welded / Riveted Assembly

Build rigid frames with hinge-side reinforcement, insert hardware and verify key assembly datums.

04

Finish, Fit Check & Packout

Powder coat, mask grounding areas, test hinge and latch fit, then pack doors for rack-line handling.

05

Inspection

Check squareness, hinge datum, latch engagement, gasket-land flatness, hardware seating and coating thickness.

06

Rack-Line Packout

Protect finished doors, bracket kits and service panels for rack-line handling, retrofit staging or site delivery.

05 / Why It Matters

What Makes an RDHx Frame Program Work

RDHx doors combine rack mechanics and liquid-cooling service needs. The fabricated frame has to protect both fit and uptime.

Rack Fit

Door width, height, latch position and swing clearance need to match the rack footprint without field rework.

Hinge Alignment

Tall doors need stable hinge datums and reinforced rails so weight does not create sagging or binding.

Coil Protection

Guards, carriers and gasket lands need to shield the coil while preserving airflow and service access.

Leak-Aware Service

Drip trays, hose brackets and manifold supports need to keep coolant service clear of sensitive rack electronics.

07 / Why Choose Us

Why OEMs Trust DRAmetal for RDHx Frames

01

Drawing-Based Project Review

Define the mating interfaces, critical dimensions, finish, inspection records and delivery requirements in the released drawing package.

02

Leak-aware hardware design

Drip trays, hose guides, manifold brackets and coolant service points are kept clear of sensitive electronics areas.

03

Large-frame distortion control

Tall door frames are cut, formed, welded or riveted with checks for squareness, gasket-land flatness and hinge-side reinforcement.

04

Data center packout

Finished doors are protected and packed for rack line handling, reducing coating damage and field fit rework.

09 / FAQ

Rear Door Heat Exchanger FAQ

Do you build the full liquid coil?

We focus on the precision sheet metal platform: door frames, coil carriers, protection panels, brackets, drip trays and assembly hardware. We can build around your selected coil and manifold package.

Can you match an existing rack footprint?

Yes. We review hinge datum, latch position, swing clearance, containment interference and hose routing before first article fabrication.

Which finishes work for RDHx frames?

Black textured powder coating is common for rack-facing frames. We can mask grounding zones, plate small brackets and specify corrosion protection for humid mechanical spaces.
