03 / Manufacturing Process

Integrated Production Workflow

Eight production steps from raw steel coil to an inspected, trial-assembled rack built to the released drawing.

01

DFM Review

Pre-production DFM analysis ensures EIA-310 compliance, thermal performance modeling, and structural verification for target load capacity.

02

Material Verification

Material records and incoming checks follow the released specification and are included only when specified, available and quoted.

03

Laser Cutting & Punching

The quotation confirms the cutting and punching route for rails, panels, ventilation patterns and mounting holes.

04

Press Brake Forming

Frames, doors and panels follow a quoted forming route and the released angle tolerances and agreed inspection plan.

05

Robotic Welding

The welding route, fixture, joint controls and inspection scope are confirmed for the released frame. No weld result or distortion level is assumed.

06

Powder Coating

Pretreatment (zinc phosphate) + epoxy-polyester powder coat. Standard and custom colors can follow the released finish specification; salt-spray requirements and validation are buyer-defined.

07

Assembly & Hardware

Rail installation, door hinge mounting, leveling foot installation, caster mounting, cable management accessories. Any assembly checks follow the RFQ-defined method and sampling plan.

08

QC & Packaging

Drawing-defined dimensional and finish inspection. Any load testing follows the buyer-selected test plan and responsible test party. Custom palletizing for global ocean / air freight shipping.

05 / Quality & Compliance

Project-Specific Quality Planning

The RFQ should define critical rack interfaces, inspection evidence and any independent test scope. No data-center performance level is implied without an accepted drawing, inspection plan and responsible test party.

UL 2416

UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components. Confirm the rack model and listing scope against the project's UL 2416 requirements. Final configuration approval remains with the responsible OEM or Listing holder.

EIA-310-E

Cabinets, racks, panels and associated equipment standard. The definitive 19" rack dimensional specification.

IEC 60297

International mechanical structures for electronic equipment — series 482.6 mm (19").

NEBS GR-63-CORE

A possible OEM or operator requirement. Seismic qualification and any zone claim remain with the responsible design and test party.

Project-Defined Inspection and Test Scope

⚖️

Static Load

Buyer-defined load, support condition, dwell, acceptance criteria and test provider

📐

Dimensional

Drawing-defined rail spacing, U-position and datum checks quoted in the inspection plan

🌀

Seismic

Independent testing only when the OEM defines the applicable method and approved laboratory

🔌

Electrical

Continuity checks only to buyer-supplied limits; Listing and system approval remain external

🛡️

Salt Spray

Finish coupons or parts tested only when the RFQ defines ASTM B117 duration and acceptance

📦

Packaging

Packaging validation only to the agreed transport profile, method and test responsibility

07 / Why Choose Us

Why Data Center OEMs Partner With DRAmetal

01

Clear UL 2416 boundary

Request the applicable UL certification documentation and confirm the model and listing scope. We fabricate customer-released mechanical designs while the OEM or Listing holder owns testing, approval and labeling.

02

AI-density project review

Frame loads, cooling interfaces and rack configuration must be released and validated by the OEM or Listing holder. No power-density or static-load rating is claimed.

03

Project-based production planning

Capacity is committed only after rack variants, tooling, finish, inspection, packout and delivery schedule have been reviewed and quoted.

04

Custom configuration agility

Rack format, depth, variants and production method are reviewed from the released drawing set and committed in the quotation.

05

Global logistics expertise

Palletization, freight method, export documentation and Incoterm are defined for each order and destination.

06

Traceability by RFQ

Project records can link material lots and agreed inspection or test results when the required format and retention period are specified in the RFQ.

09 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the minimum order quantity for custom server racks?
Minimum order and repeat-production quantity depend on rack geometry, tooling, finish, inspection and packout. They are confirmed in the quotation after the released scope is reviewed.
How long does prototype development take?
Prototype and production schedules are confirmed in the quotation after design, finish, purchased hardware and inspection requirements are reviewed. OEM-managed validation or certification testing has a separate schedule set by the responsible test body.
Do you support UL 2416 certification?
UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components. Confirm the rack model and listing scope against your UL 2416 requirements. We can fabricate rack metalwork from a customer-released design and supply agreed inspection records. The OEM, Listing holder or accredited laboratory owns testing, certification, file maintenance and labeling.
Can you review AI / GPU-density rack designs?
DRAmetal can review buyer-released rack metalwork, structural members and liquid-cooling provisions. The OEM or Listing holder owns power density, load rating, thermal design, containment compatibility and final validation.
How do you ship racks internationally?
We ship globally via sea (FCL recommended for volume), with custom palletization optimized for safety and container utilization. Final pack count, container plan and Incoterms are confirmed for the RFQ and destination.
What accessories can be pre-installed?
We can pre-install: cable management arms, blanking panels, vertical cable management, casters/leveling feet, mounting rails (square hole / threaded / toolless), grounding kits, and basic PDUs. Customer-supplied components also accepted for integration before shipping.
