03 / Manufacturing Process

Integrated Production Workflow

Eight production steps from raw aluminum or stainless coil to inspected cabinet metalwork built to the released drawing.

01

DFM & Thermal Modeling

Pre-production DFM analysis including CFD thermal simulation for heat load verification and air-flow optimization. Critical for IP66 + thermal balance.

02

Material Verification

Aluminum, stainless and galvanized steel coils verified by mill cert. Alloy composition by XRF; surface finish inspected before cutting.

03

Laser Cutting & Punching

The quotation confirms the cutting and punching route for frame, panel, door, ventilation and cable entry features after material and drawing review.

04

Press Brake Forming

Frame structure, doors and cooling fins follow a quoted forming route. Critical sealing surfaces manufactured to drawing-defined tolerances; the OEM or test body owns final IP66 validation.

05

Welding & Joining

Robotic MIG for structural welds; manual TIG for seam-critical and cosmetic welds. EMI-critical joints get continuous welds (no skip).

06

Surface Treatment

Type II anodize for aluminum; powder coat over zinc phosphate for steel. RAL color matching with ΔE ≤ 1.0 across production lots.

07

Assembly & Sealing

Door hinges, gaskets, EMI shielding, cable entry hardware, thermal management components installed per project BOM. Calibrated torque control.

08

IP & Performance Testing

Ingress, pressure-decay, thermal or impact checks are performed only to the agreed project method, acceptance limits, sampling plan and record format.

05 / Quality & Compliance

Project-Specific Quality Planning

The RFQ should define operator requirements, critical interfaces, inspection evidence and any independent test scope. No telecom, ingress, impact, EMC or weather rating is implied by this fabrication page.

NEBS GR-487

A possible operator requirement. Applicability, qualification and acceptance remain with the OEM, operator or responsible test party.

IP66 / IK10

Example buyer targets only. Final ingress and impact ratings require testing of the configured enclosure by the responsible party.

EN 50121-4

Railway applications EMC. For trackside telecom cabinets near electrified railways.

CE & UL Boundary

UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components; confirm the model and listing scope for your project. Confirm other required market approvals during project qualification. We can manufacture released mechanical drawings that reference UL 50E-related enclosure requirements; the OEM, Listing holder or test body owns approval.

Project-Defined Inspection and Test Scope

💧

IP66 Spray Test

Final ingress testing only to the buyer-selected IEC 60529 method and approved test provider

🌡️

Temperature Cycling

Buyer-defined profile, acceptance limits and approved provider under the selected IEC 60068 method

🔨

IK Impact

Impact target, specimen and provider defined by the OEM under IEC 62262

🛡️

Salt Spray

ASTM B117 exposure only when duration, specimen and acceptance criteria are quoted

📡

EMI Shielding

EMC method, frequency range, configured specimen and laboratory remain buyer-defined

☀️

UV / Weathering

ASTM G155 or other weathering work only when the RFQ defines method, exposure and acceptance

07 / Why Choose Us

Why Telecom OEMs & Operators Choose DRAmetal

01

Customer-defined telecom requirements

Cabinet sealing, grounding, thermal and mounting features are manufactured from OEM-released drawings. Specify the required NEBS criteria and documentation in the RFQ so the cabinet configuration, inspection records and equipment-level validation can be reviewed together with the telecom OEM.

02

Clear market-approval boundary

The telecom OEM owns FCC, CE, IC, ACMA and operator approvals. DRAmetal supplies only the quoted mechanical enclosure and agreed manufacturing records.

03

Thermal responsibility boundary

Heat load, environment, cooling hardware and CFD or test validation remain OEM-defined. DRAmetal does not claim a thermal rating, operating range or field reliability result.

04

Project-based production planning

Capacity is committed only after cabinet variants, tooling, finish, inspection, packout and delivery schedule have been reviewed and quoted.

05

EMI shielding excellence

60-80 dB attenuation across 30 MHz - 1 GHz. Critical for dense urban deployments where adjacent-cell interference is a real concern.

06

Service-life boundary

The OEM defines and validates service life, maintenance interval and environmental performance. DRAmetal follows the released mechanical design.

09 / FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the minimum order quantity for outdoor telecom cabinets?
Minimum order and repeat-production quantity depend on cabinet size, variants, tooling, finish, inspection and packout. They are confirmed in the quotation after the released scope is reviewed.
How long does prototype development take?
Prototype and production schedules are defined in the quotation after the design, finish, purchased hardware and inspection scope are reviewed. NEBS or country-specific certification work is scheduled separately by the responsible OEM, laboratory or approval body.
Can you handle thermal management for high-density 5G hardware?
The RFQ can include buyer-released provisions for passive cooling, fans, heat exchangers or HVAC. The OEM or responsible thermal party must define the heat load and validate CFD, EMC, environment and system performance; no fixed kW rating is claimed.
Do you support country-specific certifications?
UL certification documentation is available on request for applicable products and components. Confirm the cabinet model and listing scope, and identify any CE, FCC, IC or operator requirements during project qualification. We can fabricate the released mechanical enclosure scope and provide agreed inspection records; the OEM and its accredited laboratories own final testing and market approval.
How do you ship cabinets internationally?
We ship globally via sea (FCL recommended for volume), with custom palletization optimized for both safety and container utilization. 18-24 macro cabinets per 40' HC container is typical. Air freight available for urgent deployments. EXW, FOB, CIF, DDP supported.
Can equipment be pre-integrated before shipping?
Yes — we offer integrated assembly: BBU mounting, power systems, battery backup, fiber distribution modules, cooling units, and grounding kits can be pre-installed when the released BOM, wiring scope and acceptance plan include them. Site-time effects depend on the integrator's installation method; DRAmetal does not claim a fixed saving.
